7in7 (day3) "I'm Yours"

I almost forgot to post this today. Go Cowboys!!!

Here is Day3's song:

"I'm Yours"

purge me in love
cleanse my wayward soul
flood me with grace
abundantly overflow

draw me within your truth
let kindness guide my way

I wanna follow You Lord
with passion fight for your name
I wanna follow You Lord
till blood dries up in these veins

I'm yours

so make me abide
firmly hold me close
stir me in love
sanctify purify never let go

draw me within with truth
kindness guide my way

I wanna follow You Lord
with passion fight for your name
I wanna follow You Lord
till blood dries up in these veins

I'm yours I'm Yours
I'm yours I'm Yours

I wanna follow You Lord
with passion fight for your name
I wanna follow You Lord
till blood dries up in these veins

I'm yours I'm Yours

Nothin' but love,

Jimmy

7in7 (day2) "Jesus, You Have Saved My Soul"

This one started out as a prayer, and you know, sometimes I like to sing when I pray.
And as I sang the name "Jesus", tears began to stream down my face. Who He is and what He has done has changed my life for eternity. It's only by God's grace I can say that I'm saved.

So, out of that prayer came Song #2.

"Jesus, You Have Saved My Soul"

I once was blinded by fear
trusting my own selfish heart
to guide my way

I once thought I could run
to the world with all it's gain
still you sought and came after me

Jesus my Beloved, precious one I adore
Now my heart longs for
Jesus Almighty Savior
Merciful Righteous Redeemer
You saved my soul

I once believed all the lies
that you didn't dare care for me
I was on my own

But then I heard
forgiveness came by the cross
in love absorbing the loss and my debt
you set this captive free

Jesus my Beloved, precious one I adore
Now my heart longs for
Jesus Almighty Savior
Merciful Righteous Redeemer
You saved my soul

Nothin' but love,

Jimmy

7in7 (day1) "I Think I'm Falling For You"

#7in7! Writing 7 songs in 7 days, your joking right?......Nope, not at all.

I've joined a group of about 200 artist with this difficult task. We will all be writing 1 song a day for the next 7 days. What's great for you, and vulnerable for me, is that we can't just keep them a secrect. Sharing each song is in the rule book. I won't lie, I don't want to, but I'm going to. So, you'll be seeing me post a new song every day for the next 7 days. I won't lie, I don't want to, but I'm going to.

Here we go!

Day1 came from left feild. Wasn't expecting to write a love song on the first day, but here it is.

"I Think I'm Falling For You"

affection deep inside, a feeling i can't hide
is this love

things i ca't explain, are moving me to change
could this be love

I Think I'm falling, I think i'm falling for you

every time I mention your name, seems like a smiles on my face
there beneath the thought of you and I
courageously hoping and wanting, fervently seeking and asking
if this thing I feel inside is truth

I Think I'm falling, I think i'm falling for you

weakness I can't fight, laying down my pride
is this love

releasing all my fears, I've held so tight these years
could this be love

I Think I'm falling, I think i'm falling for you

every time I mention your name, seems like a smiles on my face
there beneath the thought of you and I
courageously hoping and wanting, fervently seeking and asking
if this thing I feel inside is truth

I think I'm falling, I think I'm falling
I think i'm falling for you

Nothin' but love,

Jimmy

The Start of Something New

You might be wondering why I'm writing a blog. Well, to be honest, I am wondering the same thing. It is probably twofold: First, it's to get my friends off my back about putting my thoughts on paper. They've been bugging me about writing for the last 2 to 3 years, and second, it's a reason to document all that God is doing in my life. And to be honest it's the latter....Ok, well let's just say it's 80-20 and God used the first reason to lead me to do the second. He does that you know.

I want to encourage you. Challenge you. Push myself and you to want to know Jesus more. My hope is that some of these blogs will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but at the end of them all I hope you see the hand of God at work.

I'm not sure where this will lead, but I'm excited to begin this journey.

Nothin' but love,

Jimmy

About content

Jimmy McNeal has a sincere desire for the body of Christ to devote their whole lives to worshiping God not only inside, but outside the walls of the church building. Jimmy's energy and passion for God is contagious, and he leads out of an overflow of his love for Jesus. Serving as one of the Worship Leaders at The Austin Stone Community Church, God continues to challenge him and his bandmates to live out the call He has placed on their lives through love, service, and missional living.

"And he said to all, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.'" (Luke 9:23-24 ESV)

“I’m living a dream I didn’t even know I had” is a phrase Jimmy uses often when speaking about his career. As a worship leader at The Austin Stone Community Church, Jimmy has a sincere desire for the body of Christ to devote their whole lives to worshiping God not only inside, but outside the walls of the church building. His loyalty to the local church is an inspiration to many. But as a young man, growing up in Waxahachie, TX, he had no clue this would be the road that God would take him on.

Jimmy had big dreams of using the money he would make as an NFL linebacker to fund his career as an R&B artist. His first shot at fame came with his appearance on American Idol. Although he was cut shortly after becoming a top 40 finalist, Jimmy knew that God was preparing him for something different. "God used this opportunity to bring me to a place of complete surrender. I remember reading Luke 9:23-24 over and over again, praying and asking God to do with my life what He pleased … just to simply have His way within me." Jimmy had all his goals and dreams lined up and being a worship leader wasn’t on the radar. He would be the first to tell you that he did not want to be a Worship Leader. It wasn't until God began to reveal to him a calling to and passion for worship that he began to pursue it.

Soon after accepting this calling, Jimmy was blessed with a unique opportunity to lead worship with Chris Tomlin at The Austin Stone Community Church and at a few Passion Conferences. “I'm thankful that Chris took a chance on me. The way that God perfectly orchestrated Chris getting my contact from a friend who knew a friend that heard me sing once still amazes me. Only God could tie all those strings together.”

He feels extremely blessed to be under such great church leadership at The Austin Stone and to be part of an amazing church community. Jimmy is humbled that God would allow him to do what he is doing. This was all a part of God's handiwork from one dream to the next.

Jimmy's energy and passion for God is contagious, and he leads out of an overflow of his love for Jesus. God continues to challenge him and his bandmates to live out the call He has placed on their lives through love, service, and missional living.
